The Strathcona Youth Justice Committee (SYJC) is a volunteer organization made up of community members that offers an alternative route through the justice system for youth facing criminal charges.
By using a restorative justice approach, the SYJC aims to ensure accountability and growth for our youth through meaningful extrajudicial sanctions. Upon successful completion of our program, our youth may avoid the lasting effects of a criminal record.

SYJC helps to facilitate greater accountability and possible redemption for actions from the youth in our community via meaningful sanctions in a supportive environment.
This helps in to avoid possible long term ramifications that come with a Youth being charged under the law.
